Once again, I've waited until the start of the new anime season to make my picks for the season. There is another new crops of shows, and choosing among them is not all that easy. Given that Gundam AGE, Mirai Nikki and Guilty Crown are still on going, I think I can watch only 2-3 more shows at the most. As always, this is just a list of shows that I'll check out. If you still need help choosing, a list of season preview blog posts is at this post.
Will watch, but won't blog:
Nisemonogatari
The sequel to Bakemonogatari, the longest 15 episode anime I've ever watched. As a Shaft/Shinbo show, Bakemonogatari had some good moments in terms of the action and girls being cute/awesome, but it was plagued by production issues (this frame has not been animated signs... ugh), and the "witty" dialogue can get over your head after it goes on for long enough. Still, it was not a terrible show, so I'll watch the sequel and hope that Shaft has its production budget worked out this time.
Will check out:
Senhime Zesshou Symphogear
Girls fighting "noise" with the power of song... sounds interesting.
Aquarion Evol
I haven't watched the original Aquarion anime, but I've heard good things about it. Although I watch a lot of mecha/robot anime, I haven't watched a "super-robot" type of the anime in a while. Let's see if I can get away with watching the sequel without watching the original first.
I think that's probably all the anime I have time to watch. I kind of want to check out the thriller/horror series Another, but I don't know if I'll have the time.
As promised, here is the list of season previews from the blogs on my blogroll.
- Bokutachi no Blog
- Kita ze Inbou
- METANORN
- Random Curiosity
- Sea Slugs!
- Tenka Seiha
- T.H.A.T.

Whoa so you're following Guilty Crown eh?I didnt find it that impressive.I decided to check it out due to it's extreme hype in the blogosphere but it's a let down...
ReplyDeleteYou prefer mecha series among the many genre out there is it? :)
I really wish that you check out Shingeki no Kyojin (Attack on Titans) manga, and blog it too.If you dont believe me,see Baka Raptor's post :P
I watched the original Aquarian Age years ago. Wasn't a fan, honestly. I couldn't make much sense out of it.

ReplyDeleteGuilty Crown is entertaining as a train wreck in progress.
Maybe I'll check out Shingeki no Kyojin, but no promises.
