Tobi is Obito!! Wow we sure didn't see that one coming... right. To the surprise of only the characters in the series, Tobi is Obito in disguise like many of us in the audience have suspected. They spent the entire chapter revealing a secret that's not much of a secret, but afterwards will come the interesting bits as to how Obito survived, how he became powerful and why did he do the things he did as Tobi.
...worst...reveal...ever!!
ReplyDeleteI at least enjoyed that the flashback was sparse on dialog; i.e., spending more effort showing instead of telling. The part where Obito smiles with the rock face statues of the Hokages behind him especially stuck out to me.

Tell me about it, the biggest reveal from that chapter was that we finally got the 4th's name...
DeleteIT WAS THAT OBVIOUS! Here was me thinking it was Madara's eyeless brother (who I believed Itachi faked his death) that took one of Obito's eyes. This chapter taught me to stop trying to be a smart mark and just look at the facts.
ReplyDeleteThis chapter sucked porcupine's balls. it just doesn't make a goddamn fucking sense with the time-line of the manga. wasn't he a wimp when he was in team Kakashi when they were all kids, then he suddenly learns to control 9 tail chakara and fight on par with 4th in maybe a few short years?! forget that, he said he gave Nagato his eyes, WTFF!!! did he do that when he was a chromosome?? it doesnt make a goddamn motherfucking sense!

DeleteWell, Kishimoto is not Kubo so i guess he'll explain this soon, my guess is that he's not really Obito, but someone in Obito's body (similar to how Orochimaru 'reencarnate' on people's body). I think Kishimoto is good at linking point A to point B in the story. so i guess he'll come up with a believable reason for "Obito" geting so evil and Overpowered and Learning so freaking much about Madara Uchiha.
Deleteanother thing that make me believe it's not Obito, is the flashback where he fight Minato, Kakashi is shown to be a teenager at the time while Tobi is cleary as tall as Minato impling that he's an Adult, Kishimoto wouldn't do such Rookie mistake (or would he? O_O)
My wild theory is Obito's mangekyou awakened as he was about to be crushed to death, and then he decided the world sucked and read the secret Uchiha plaque to get powers lol
