Who are they supposed to be? ZZ Top?
Summary:
Law, Straw Hats and allies make landfall at Dressrosa, and Law splits the group into three teams to carry out the plan. Law, Usopp and Robin will take Ceasar to the island of Green Bit that is north of Dressrosa for the handover. Since ships can't land at the Green Bit, the group has to travel by land and over the bridge from Dressrosa to Green Bit. Nami, Chopper, Brook and Momonosuke stay to guard to ship, and Law gives Nami a map to Zou and tells Nami's group to sail to Zou if something bad happens. Luffy, Sanji, Zoro, Franky and Kinemon make up the team that will locate the destroy the Smile Factory and rescue Kinemon's friend. The group heads into the port town of Acacia and are immediately caught up by the dancing, the aroma of flowers and food, and the living toys walking on the street. The group go into a restaurant in disguise to have a meal and to decide how to proceed. Nearby, a blind man is playing roulette with a group of thugs in black. The blind man is making bets on the right colors, but the thugs lie that the ball lands on the other color so they can take the man's money. The blind man makes one last all or nothing bet and bets on the right color. The thugs are about to swindle the blind man again, but Luffy steps in and tells the blind man that the men in black have been lying to him. The thugs are about to attack, but the blind man draws his sword a bit and the thugs are crushed into a big hole in the ground.

The alliance lands in Dressrosa, and Luffy wastes no time in getting himself into a situation. Luffy has never been the type to keep a low profile, but on the other hand he is the hero and is needed to defeat whatever strong foe that Doflammingo is going throw in his way. The blind man seems to have some sort power to increase gravity and crush his opponents. Luffy can see the man is strong, but the guy doesn't seem to be part of Doflammingo's group. Could the blind guy be whoever the Marines are sending to Dressrosa to deal with the Straw Hats? Every story arc have their interesting side characters.
From the chapter, Dressrosa looks like a prosperous and vibrant country on the surface. Doflammingo is a keen businessman, so perhaps he was doing a pretty good job with running the country. Of course, Dressrosa is Doflammingo's territory so there could be danger at every turn for the Law-Straw Hat alliance. Given how prominent the living toys are featured, I'm guessing one or more living toys are going to play an important role in the arc.

There is heavy speculation that the man is Fujitora. Luffy stated "Old man... You are strong."
ReplyDeleteBuffalo prevents cheating in the casino. The Donquixote family is being less of a villain in every chapter, or at least they have some sense of honor.
The thugs probably don't want to mess with Doflammingo's direct underlings, so they wouldn't dare cheat when Buffalo is around.
DeleteSo i was rereading the last 2 chapters and i think i figured out something, the identity of that reporter who got the stories on the strawhats revival, the alliance with law, and the kid alliance. Pretty sure its absolum and moria's gang. It would make since with the name similarity and their ship fleeing kid's hideout (saw the sweat drops indicating their apprehension at getting away).
ReplyDeleteAlso i believe in going along with oda's type of surprises, i think i have figured out who the last shickubuai (i'll never spell that correctly lol) is. I think its going to be sabo. Obviously they made the mystery person male in the writing and i think at this point, introducing a completely new character in the group wouldn't go along with oda's style. Just a guess but wouldn't it be awesome....
oh and i was the first to guess quincy on here so maybe i'll get 2 for 2 :P
Deleteoh and just found another thing, in chapter 700 page 10, the ship is riding on a wave and you can see objects in the water that look just like perona's ghosts. Perhaps moria is planning something and having his minions tail all the rookies?
DeleteHmm interesting. Moria will probably be up to something once he recovered from the attack at Marineford.
